Why We Fear Climate

by James Watkins

If you said that we have religion because we have the bad weather, you would be partially correct. Man first began negotiating with the gods when there was thunder, lightening, hurricanes, even full moons and an occasional volcano, all which triggered the same reaction in man: we must do something. So we prayed, offered sacrifices and demanded something be done.

Sound familiar?

You hear it all of the time from climate change folks. We need to ‘do something.’ We need our leaders to do something, anything, to make sure the weather doesn’t harm us.

During the later part of the Mayan Empire, we know that they experienced a harsh drought. It was warm and dry from 800 to 1000 A.D. in Central America. We also know that these people were so desperate for rain they would try all kinds of things to sway the gods into bringing rain, even if it meant decapitating its citizens one by one (in reality it was a great way for the rulers to eliminate extra mouths to feed).

And when certain Mayan rulers figured out by calculation when periodic solar eclipses would come they used this knowledgae to manipulate a desperate society, by creating these grand spectacles and festivals, ceremonies really, in which the rulers and the people would sit and watch human sacrafice to get relief from climate change.

And when the sun went dark the ceremonies came to their thrilling climax. The sacrifices ended and all was at peace, except for the fact that the rains never came.

It was one of the reason the Spaniards were able to conquer what remained of this once great empire. They had grown weak, defenseless and stupid.

We also know that, about five-thousand years ago there was a tremendous flood in Mesopotamia.

The story in Genesis and the story of Noah, while a matter of faith to be sure, is most likely based on a real flood that occurred during this period of prehistoric history. Millions died. Most cultures speak of a “great flood that destroyed mankind.” Even back then we had climate change, and even back then, we cried for God to “do something!”

As mans’ nature would have it, early Hebrew writings explained it was God’s punishment for sin. It was man being reconciled by God for being evil (stemming from the fall of Adam and Eve).

In reality, though it was climate change; a combination of the Mediterranean sea floors sinking while regional mountain ranges rose, bring more rain in increasing amounts to the flood plains of north Syria and along the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. It was a flood of epic proportions, and man blamed himself, just as we do today.

From the very beginning of man’s recorded history we see this belief has been embraced when the weather effects humanity, we a) are the cause of it, and b) we must also be the ones who must change it by changing our behavior (or confessing our sins).

Flash forward to today. Today, there is vast energy. We are awash in cheap crude oil, natural gas and coal.

And this is a great thing.

Most of our activity is powered by cheap energy. Lives have vastly improved globally, mostly because cheap energy is so plentiful. This past week, when a Saudi oil refinery was bombed, thankfully, America could step in and keep the supply flowing. This is a testament of our ability to harness the earth’s energy and improve our living standards. 40 years ago gas prices would have shot up and people would have panicked.

Do you suppose that many in our society just feel guilty for having it so good, that we must somehow pay for our good graces? I think so, and it’s why so many people feel a need to atone for their guilt. What better way to do so that to blame something we don’t understand on ourselves, especially if there is a way to make money and seize control doing so.

Let’s agree on two things:

,
1) The climate is always changing, something we have NO control over, and

2) We do have a POLLUTION program, of which we can control.

We all recognize there is a problem with waste, overconsumption, and destruction of our immediate environment. Remember the 80’s when you would buy a CD that came in this big, hard plastic container? We waste raw materials, and we also pollute our waters.

I argue that, instead of trying to lower the global temperature, which we cannot do, we should instead, harness our efforts towards cleaning up the planet of the mess we have made, which is what I think is at the core of climate change activism anyway.

Most of us are old enough to remember that Earth Day used to about ending pollution, curbing oil spills and conserve because it s smart policy. Earth Day and climate activism has morphed into a very expensive notion that we are a primary driver of the earth’s environment. The current fear of climate change is also a reminder of how man has always feared nature because he fails to really understand the process, or predict it.

Almost every predictor of global warming is based on models that are premised on a calculation that ties global mean temperatures to carbon output. It sounds reasonable, except when you consider that the earth produces 97% of the global carbon all by itself. Man is only responsible for 3% of carbon output.

Look, we may not feel like we have to negotiate with the Gods like we used to when we have bad weather, but we also need to stop feeling guilt or fear every time there is a bad weather event. People are being scared into feeling personally responsible every time there is a hurricane, a flood, or a drought. Our kids have this tremendous nihilism instilled in them because they feel hopeless that they can’t change the world to make it less frightening.

And that’s when our leaders, just like the Mayan kings and princes did before, will use our ignorance and fear against us, to rule over us even more, and the more we scream “do something,” the more they control our behavior and use political control because they know we would be willing to ‘do anything’ to feel safe.

They won’t tell us they don’t have the answers,  but they do tell us we need to pay ‘for our sins’ by giving them more money, power, or both.

Pollution is the problem. If we just take care of pollution in our backyard, then that is something we we can get all get behind – and should.

But when you start talking about charging carbon tax dollars and having rolling blackouts to “save the planet,” then you know you are being hoodwinked. When “doing something” just means making energy more expensive and not having any impact on the environment, then you know we are being played for fools.

Yes, the climate is changing. We are in a warm period, just like in the a thousand years, and before that, around 100 b.c. to the 4th century a.d., which was also a very warm period.

We do have to prepare for things like more rain, floods, and perhaps a few more hurricanes, all normal weather events when the earth is warmer, just like blizzards, glaciers and frozen crops are the result of global cooling, which by the way, usually kills more people than warm periods.

Pause to consider the  great plague of 1347 which destroyed one third of the entire European continent, and the London Plague of 1666, and even the Potato Famine of 1845 in Ireland, all a result of global cooling).

Don’t believe me. Check the books.

Mankind has always look to the gods when it came to things he couldn’t control because we are fearful. Today is no different, and our leaders know this.
F

ear is a great motivator and we all need to be diligent in making sure fear isn’t used to get us to do stupid things, like accept without question, when a 16 year old girl becomes the poster child for climate change, as she tells our elected leaders to “do something.”

Believe me, they will. Heads will roll.

The Great Ideological Struggle

by James R. Watkins

August 19, 2019

The great ideological struggle of the modern age is between Faith and Secularism, between those who “hold these truths to be self-evident,” and those who believe the world is what we make it, that we are simply human beings whose rights come from the society in which we live, that scientific materialism is where we derive reality from; that there is no such thing as eternal truth, but rather, relative truth that serves the moment at hand.

At the root of Western society is the idea that individuals have liberties such as the right of self-expression, the free exchange of ideas, to congregate and protest, freedom of movement. freedom to own property. But in secularism, we serve the State, the Party, or the greater good as determined by those who are in power.

At the root of communism is secularism. Communism could never exist in a society of deeply religious people because people who have faith would never submit to the State, only to God.

This is why China doesn’t allow formal religion, it usurps authority away from the State.

Socialism, an offspring of secularism, leads to communism because in essence, the State must govern for the greater good. The individual only matters in proportion to the group.

Sadly, millions of people prefer this social construct because it removes responsibility from the individual and moves it to the collective; the individual no longer needs to apply judgement, he merely agrees with the social order, only needs to agree that it is “best for the greater good of society.” This why the Chinese government can remove any citizen who is deemed “an enemy of the State.” Human rights do not come from God, they come from the State.

If you asked our political leaders (who endorse socialism) what they think of religion, they might be dismissive or they will probably give it light mention. To the secularist, as to the communist, Religion is an opiate, and psychological safe space, a distraction.

Sooner or later, as we have seen, the State requires 100% submission.

But here is the danger.

In the West secularism is eating away at religion. Our educational system is completely secularized, advocacy groups are going to extremes to remove religious symbols and history from State and federal buildings, holidays that were once rooted in religious culture have been secularized: Easter has become ‘spring break,’ Christmas is now ‘winter holiday,’ even Thanksgiving has been thoroughly secularized and commercialized.

Secularistic science tells us that such concepts are myths based on a need for man to explain things, and in doing so science disregards the fact of the reality of existence of God, asserting therefore that we exist as a result of random causation, simple cause and effect; that our existence has no discernable divine hand; that good and evil are just relative values we invented mere labels we use to assign people who are bad or good as just being disabled or suffering from mental illness. People of faith, in this system are labeled intolerant, weak-minded, prejudiced, unscientific, homophobic, racist. Religion is marginalized.

Modern society struggles with religion because we are now several generations deep into a culture that has accepted the notion Science explains everything – and that religion is nothing more than a custom of old belief systems that developed long before science started answering all of our questions about life.

And yet, there it is. People have faith, they believe in God, they pray, they worship. They follow Jesus as their lord and do wonderful things. They pray to allah and submit to his grace, they live the law and have faith in the mercy of God, the most high, the Lord God of Israel.

History tells us that religion is not only good for society because it instills and upholds morals and ethics from one generation to another, but because it more importantly instills family-values which lie at the cornerstone of any solid society. But wait, there is more, and this is key.

The idea that maybe there is – now hold on – such a thing as salvation, a furtherance of existence beyond our mortal shell, an idea so foreign to main street and western culture that it is not even talked about, not in public, not in private, except as some sort of myth unworthy of a truly reasonable mind.
(long pause)

Paper 195, section 6, 7 and 8 talks about the dangers of secularism, it warns us that a society based only on securlistic ideals cannot survive, that without God, our society will eventually disintegrate, that secularism betrays man because he goes from being a slave to the church to being a slave to government and to politically tyranny, which we are now seeing.

In 1935 it warns us that more “terrible destruction to come.” And then we remember that the Urantia Book was written just a few years before World War 2, and of course, the hundred or so million people who died in Russia under Stalin and in China under Mao, secularist regimes that rule under tyranny, the offspring of secularism.

The great ideological struggle is between attaining a society that is based on enduring spiritual principles that give value to the individual human spirit, who we believe is self-evident as being a child of God, or we adhere to humanistic, materialistic principles that give no regard to such ideas such as human rights, only of “universal rights,” or social rights and social justice. When you hear those words you’ll know who is speaking.

I know a lot of people who simply don’t believe in religion, they don’t get it. I understand. But I’m warning them, don’t be fooled into believing that God doesn’t matter in a society just because you feel that way, or that faith doesn’t matter in a society because you don’t have faith.

You don’t want a global society that turns its back on spiritual ideals and truth. That’s China, a total surveillance society where anyone who dissents is put to death or taken off and put away in a labor camp.

Say goodbye to freedom of thought, freedom of expression, of freedom itself. These are spiritual principles because they give account to enduring principles of fairness for the individual.

God and the preservation of the rights of the individual vs. Man and the emphasis on group rights as determined by government. This is the great ideological struggle of our times.

The point of all of this is that I believe this current ideological struggle is being waged now, as we speak. We see it being played out in China between the Hong Kong protestors and the dictatorial Chinese government; in America we see it being played out between the progressive and atheistic Left and the Conservative and sometimes religious right who are vying for political power; in Europe between the globalists and the nationalists who are losing rights “for the greater good,” even in some countries in the Middle East between those who want islamic reform, like Saudi Arabia and Iran, and the oppressive regimes that still march to the medieval trumpet blasts of religious tyranny not unlike we saw in the early Christian Church.

The great ideological struggle is all around us.

It is stated that “crisis comes before destruction as well as growth.”

Which outcome will we choose?

When Will Science Realize The Urantia Book is a Treasure Trove?

Urantia history encompasses an additional one million years of human activity that modern paleontology current does NOT take into account. Today’s paleontology is barely scratching the surface on things older than the last 4,000 years (going back to about 1,800 BC); the further back in time modern science attempts to go in its attempt at piecing together human evolution, the sketchier’ facts become, which is why there are more theories about human development than there are facts.

I’m noting that the Urantia Book is formatted in four parts; each section presents a historical narrative of origins, purposes and projected outcomes of universal growth.

Part three of the book is our history, including the origin of the specific nebular family from which our solar system found its origin.

Current scientific theory states all material in our universe, including our sun, is just under six billion years old which is comensurate with the Urantia Book account, which predated carbon testing that could confirm this fact.

A lucky guess?

Interestingly, every new “discovery” published today in science Journals typically – though not always – confirms or validates the previously stated Urantia narrative.

Willard Libby developed a carbon dating technique in the late 1940’s, eventually winning a Nobel Prize in 1960 for his application of using radiocarbon dating to determine the age of materials.

Though not always completely accurate (depending on what material is being measured and dated), the oldest rocks are 4.7 billion years old. We know that our earth is about 4 billion years old, and we estimate the sun is 4.7 billion years in age.

Here is what the Urantia Book stated in 1934, over a decade before carbon dating methods could validate the following statement:

“5,000,000,000 years ago your sun was a comparatively isolated blazing orb, having gathered to itself most of the near-by circulating matter of space, remnants of the recent upheaval which attended its own birth”.

Our earth was stated to have been “born” about 4.5 Billion years ago when the sun disgorged mass that was not recaptured, our planets having been formed from the cooling of this mass to the point of becoming solid, except of course for the four gaseous planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Uranus).

That the Urantia made these statements long before they could be confirmed only emphasis this author’s point that the Urantia Book is a treasure trove of historical information that could save modern scientist time in discovery, not only in our study of astronomy, but also of most of our human history and pre-human history.

Further, we can learn and perhaps evaluate more effective ways to harmonize our global efforts by studying the Urantia historical narrative.

There are several dozen statements about Neanderthals contained in the Urantia Book that have only been recently confirmed by “new discoveries.”

Priot to the 2003 Smithsonian Magazine article published by Joe Alper, the Urantia Book had already narrated, some 70 years previous and with explicit detail, the migratory patterns and the cultural development of this renegade subset of humanity we now call The Neanderthal Man, as I pointed out on my book A New Revelation.

Science had not yet confirmed until 1992, who this superior breed of early humans where, who appeared sometime between an older species of man (1 million years ago) and a later, more developed species of man (40,000 years ago).

And yet in 1934, a tome called the Urantia Book dedicated an enormous amount of information describing this species, including specfic data regarding when they emerged (800,000 years ago), where they emerged from (Siwalik Hills in Northwest India), how long the existed (750,000 years), and the migratory patterns of this early human race as they spread throughout Asia, Europe, North Africa and elsewhere, long before we knew these things in modern times.

Consider this excerpt from Paper 64:

“The Neanderthalers were excellent fighters, and they traveled extensively. They gradually spread from the highland centers in northwest India to France on the west, China on the east, and even down into northern Africa. They dominated the world for almost half a million years until the times of the migration of the evolutionary races of color.”

800,000 years ago game was abundant; many species of deer, as well as elephants and hippopotamuses, roamed over Europe. Cattle were plentiful; horses and wolves were everywhere. The Neanderthalers were great hunters, and the tribes in France were the first to adopt the practice of giving the most successful hunters the choice of women for wives.”

And finally, this little nugget of information that was finally confirmed and published in National Geographic in 1992, some 58 years after it appeared in writing on the pages of the Urantia Revelation:

“The reindeer was highly useful to these Neanderthal peoples, serving as food, clothing, and for tools, since they made various uses of the horns and bones. They had little culture, but they greatly improved the work in flint until it almost reached the levels of the days of Andon. Large flints attached to wooden handles came back into use and served as axes and picks.”

I would point out that none of what is stated above was theorized at the time the Urantia Book was written, but was subsequently pieced-together during the 70’s and 80’s as new fossils and remnants of culture had been discovered. Even today, there is much discussion about how much Neanderthal DNA we have in modern humans, a relatively recent discovery because of our improvements in DNA mapping. Here again, the Urantia Book states just how much we interbred with this one time robust race of early men long before modern science began to address this question:

“In general and to start with, the Sangik (the colored races who emerged around 500,000 years ago) tribes were more intelligent than, and in most ways far superior to, the deteriorated descendants of the early Andonic (the first human race who emerged 1 million years ago) plainsmen; and the mingling of these Sangik tribes with the Neanderthal peoples led to the immediate improvement of the older race. It was this infusion of Sangik blood, more especially that of the blue man, which produced that marked improvement in the Neanderthal peoples exhibited by the successive waves of increasingly intelligent tribes that swept over Europe from the east.”

For those not familiar, the “blue” man were the Cro-Magnon Europeans, what science might today called Homo Sapien (we are homo sapien-sapien, or “modern man”).

When we factor in our racial differences, our genetic history, our cultural development as they are explained by the Urantia Book, one begins to see the impact the Urantia Book could have on our current research of man’s early history, and further, through a greater understanding of our past, the Urantia Book offers real insight as to how were got here today, and further, what kind of future we can expect depending on our present actions.

This article is not a finished statement.

The Neanderthal Mystery That Isn’t

For years scientists continue to be baffled about the origin and migration patterns of the Neanderthalers. They continue to be suprised, and then therefore need to constantky recalibrate their data with every new discovery. Indeed, this race of early man provides great intrigue, mainly because of one single quedtion. Why did they failed to survive?

I posit, because of my knowledge of the historical accuracy of the Urantia Book text, much time and energy could be saved if the science community would at least consider what the Urantia revelation can offer in terms of concrete data that might aid in accelerating new discovery.

For example, this most recent discovery has to do with a genome seqeuence of one particular fossil of a male that contains a unique signature not usually found with any previous Neanderthal fossil.

This specimen indicates that this new Neanderthaler came from an even earlier hominid species – much older than previously thought, a species that existed more than 700,000 years ago, which means Neanderhalers existed much longer than the current 150,000 year timeline.

The Urantia Book states emphatically that 750,000 years ago this race (The Neanderthal species) emerged from a tribe of homo sapien (whom they call The Badonans of what is now Northwest India), and further, this robust new species lasted for more than 500,000 years, until the superior colored Sangik tribes (whom Science refers to as the homo sapien sapien) wiped them out).

The Urantia Book also says Neanderthalers earliest fossil records can be found in the Swahilik Vallet in Northwest India, start there. This is where Neanderthalers came from. Not Africa, not Europe, but India.

There most be a treasure-trove of fossils ready to be discovered which would excite any anthropologists or archeologist looking to secure a Nobel Prize.

Most, if not all new discoveries about this mysterious race were documented in 1934, when the Urantia Book was written.

But sadly, even after so many validations of the past six decades, Science continues to ignore this great revelation of pre-human history.

Mankind’s Next Important Chapter

I want to share some thoughts having to do with the study of Paper 81 on The Development of Civilization – how we got here and what happens next.

For those who are not familiar with who the Adamites and the Nodites were, these names reference ancient superior races who were descended of Adam and Eve, as well as a previous race of “Mighty Men of Old’ (Genesis 6:4) who are identified as the Nodites (‘In the land of Nod, where Cain found a wife” (Genesis 4:16).

On the advice the Revelators give for maintaining civilization in the face of our modern challenges, the underlying lessons I see from Paper 81 are important to understand.

These are surely unprecedented times, the accumulation of the ages forcing us to adapt as no other generation before us has ever had to face. Needless to say the message is loud and clear: Things are changing and you need to be prepared!

Paper 81 summarizes two key points:

1) That we are the end result of hundreds of thousands of years of evolutionary hard labor, coupled with the help of advanced races of the past.

2) That because we are “plunging forward” with the “accumulated momentum” of the previous few hundred thousand years of evolution, a spiritual foundation (or renaissance) is now needed to keep society from breaking down.

The Nodites, Adamites and the mixed Andites started out as spiritually superior races and cultures, as well as also being biologically superior. They have now been completely absorbed into the six primary races of mankind (and the earlier aboriginal Andonites, as well). We are what remains, and so now that we have benefitted from this collective soup of human genomes, both of a divine and a materially progressive order, perhaps now we can start to progress in our spiritual attainment in the coming age.

The revelators say the next age will be marked by the desire to improve our “quality of thinking.”

Our intellectual progress AND our spiritual perception must be improved if we are to withstand and control the tidal wave of accumulated momentum that is pushing us forward with breakneck speed.

And that is the challenge, isn’t it?

If mankind is to take that very next important evolutionary step towards world peace and brotherhood, we must improve our thinking, as well as our spiritual understanding of things; not just with the pre-occupation of knowledge alone, but also of meanings, values, purposes, eternal concepts and long-term goals of spiritual-as well as intellectual discovery.

I can’t say it any more plainly than this. But perhaps the late great thinker Steve Allen said it best, echoed by the late-great comedian George Carlin:

“We need to stop being stupid.”

New Neanderthal Study Confirms Revelation

This is going to get real interesting.

For decades scientist believed, based on DNA and carbon dating techniques, that Neanderthals emerged much later, perhaps 250-500,000 years ago.

New research entitled Dental evolutionary rates and its implications for the Neanderthal–modern human divergence, written by Aida Gomez Robles, published in Science Advances, summarizes the research as follows:

The origin of Neanderthal and modern human lineages is a matter of intense debate. DNA analyses have generally indicated that both lineages diverged during the middle period of the Middle Pleistocene, an inferred time that has strongly influenced interpretations of the hominin fossil record. This divergence time, however, is not compatible with the anatomical and genetic Neanderthal affinities observed in Middle Pleistocene hominins from Sima de los Huesos (Spain), which are dated to 430 thousand years (ka) ago. Drawing on quantitative analyses of dental evolutionary rates and Bayesian analyses of hominin phylogenetic relationships, I show that any divergence time between Neanderthals and modern humans younger than 800 ka ago would have entailed unexpectedly rapid dental evolution in early Neanderthals from Sima de los Huesos. These results support a pre–800 ka last common ancestor for Neanderthals and modern humans unless hitherto unexplained mechanisms sped up dental evolution in early Neanderthals.

This research only confirms what was written in 1934 in Paper 64 on human evolution contained in Part 3 of the Urantia Book,  as it describes what led up to the evolutionary ‘next step’ of the appearing Neanderthal race.

From Paper 64:

“To the east of the Badonan peoples (the earlier human ancestor), in the Siwalik Hills of northern India may be found fossils that approach nearer to transition types between man and the various prehuman groups than any others on earth.

850,000 years ago the superior Badonan tribes began a warfare of extermination directed against their inferior and animalistic neighbors. In less than one thousand years most of the borderland animal groups of these regions had been either destroyed or driven back to the southern forests. This campaign for the extermination of inferiors brought about a slight improvement in the hill tribes of that age. And the mixed descendants of this improved Badonite stock appeared on the stage of action as an apparently new people—the Neanderthal race.

The Neanderthalers were excellent fighters, and they traveled extensively. They gradually spread from the highland centers in northwest India to France on the west, China on the east, and even down into northern Africa. They dominated the world for almost half a million years until the times of the migration of the evolutionary races of color.

To add additional intrigue on both the new discovery and the Urantia Book’s narrative being in-sync, the method by which this discovery is made was through studying teeth evolution.

Here, we receive explicit instructions from paper 65 in the UB on how to determine human transition periods by studying teeth:

The continuation of such biologic adjustments is illustrated by the evolution of teeth in the higher Urantia mammals; these attained to thirty-six in man’s remote ancestors, and then began an adaptative readjustment toward thirty-two in the dawn man and his near relatives. Now the human species is slowly gravitating toward twenty-eight. The process of evolution is still actively and adaptatively in progress on this planet.

75 years later, a group of researchers solved the puzzle by doing just that, studying teeth.

As a student of the Urantia Book, you can’t help to enjoy the news when new science confirms statements in the Urantia Book, adding to its continued validity as a revelatory document.

Just one more example of why scientists today should eagerly study the Urantia Book for new clues to scientific discovery. There are several Nobel Prizes to be garnered by taking “clues” from the Urantia Book and confirming them with new tools of science.

URANTIARADIOLOGO

Sign Of The Times

Even if you just extrapolate the intersectional coincidence of two consecutive solar eclipses occurring seven years apart – and at the exact location of a huge Christian cross, the incident itself is quite extraordinary.

Why the press never picked up on this event is astounding, after all, isn’t every day you have two consecutive solar eclipses criss-cross on a huge cross that just happens to be at the right place at the right time – 7 years apart!

Let’s back up so I can unpack this for you.

On August 21, 2017 the United States was in a perfect position to observe a solar eclipse that started in Northwest Oregon and crossed as it were, like a black marker being written on a map, from the Northwest to the Southeast U.S.

Screen Shot 2019-05-03 at 3.10.33 PM.png

The next solar eclipse, slated for April 8, 2024, will take a perpendicular path that intersects near Carbondale, Ill, in the Shawnee National Forest at the exact site of an 1,100- foot cross known as the Bald Knob Cross of Peace.

Cool, right? A criss-cross eclipse intersects at the exact spot where there happens to be a gigantic “cross of peace.”

Okay, so a solar eclipse isn’t that rare, nor are crosses of large size and structure, so while cool in concept, not as uncommon as one might think. It isn’t as random, statistically speaking, that such an event doesn’t occur whenever any eclipse criss-crosses; it’s just a humorous happenstance.

   Until you observe the dates.

Screen Shot 2019-05-06 at 12.49.42 PM

August 21 and April 8 share two distinctions that very few people know about, and the fact that they share this distinction makes it self evident that if there was ever a sign from heaven, this might be it – if you knew what you were looking for….

You see, there is an obscure and unknown book called The Urantia Book that, in addition to many things, also claims to be a new revelation of truth.

One large section of The Urantia Book is a 700-plus narrative of the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. In this section, they state that Jesus was born on August 21, 7BC (later adjusted from the Julian, to the now used Gregorian calendar).  This narrative also states that Jesus was crucified on Friday, April 7th, 30 AD, and he rose on Sunday morning April 9th at 3am. If you account for the fact that Sunday 3am in Jerusalem is still 6pm Saturday night in the U.S.,  or, if we speculate that the process of Jesus’ resurrection probably took place on Saturday (the intervening time between his death and his resurrection) either way, we could agree that Saturday April 8th was the day  Jesus “returned from the bosom of the Father” to rise as the resurrected Christ (dating software we can confirm that April 8th, AD 30 did fall on a Saturday)

So back to our solar eclipse.

How strange is it that two eclipses, seven years apart (seven is a spiritual number), occurring on two significant dates (Jesus’ birthday and Jesus’ resurrection day) intersecting as they did, on the exact site where there is an enormous Christian symbol?

What can we deduce from this event?

Some have suggested that, taking this event into account as I have described, the solar event marks a seven-year “tribulation,” a time of making choices about one’s spiritual commitment; that this event symbolizes a period from the “birth of Jesus to the death and re-birth of Jesus as the Christ suggesting an intervening period of reconciliation and dawning of a new age.

Halpert Katzen, a Urantia Book researcher who attended the first eclipse in 2017, and also drew the same comparisons in noticing the coincidental eclipse, also adds the connection to the Shawnee National Forest is significant because its Native American Prophet is actually mentioned in the Urantia Book (with regard to true spiritual teachers who arise from time to time in human history):

(90:2:9) Ever and anon, true prophets and teachers arose to denounce and expose shamanism. Even the vanishing red man had such a prophet within the past hundred years, the Shawnee Tenskwatawa, who predicted the eclipse of the sun in 1806 and denounced the vices of the white man.

For Katzen, he senses the two eclipses signify a period of choosing, or perhaps a closing of one dispensation, or “age” and the beginning of another.

And he might not be alone in this assessment of “end times” forecasting.

THE THIRD CONNECTION

While most mainline Christians have no knowledge of this particular event with relation to the Urantia Book, many evangelical teachings today denote this period as the “end times,” using quotes from Revelations as examples of prophecy:

(Rev 8: 10-12)  10 “The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— 11 the name of the star is Wormwood.[a] A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.

12 The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark.A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.”

Many believe, because of statements like these littered throughout scripture, that a natural event like an impact of a destructive comet or asteroid is actually prophesied to occur during the “end days,” and this event may actually usher in a new era that lasts ‘a thousand years.’

So we now can draw our attention to an event that is timed to occur just after an extremely unusual second eclipse, and an equally important astronomical event set to occur just before the 2000th anniversary of Jesus’ resurrection, all of this set to occur in the year 2029 when earth will have a strange and spectacular visitor.

Of course scientist are saying today that the asteroid, called Apophis (The Greek God of Destruction) will miss earth by 19,000 miles. But it’s ten years from now, even just a slight deviation in the Earth’s trajectory or speed, or that of the asteroid, by even a few seconds or minutes over the 3,652 days between now and then could spell disaster on a global scale.

In the picture below you see the earth and the thousands of satellites circling the earth’s orbit. To the right you see Apophis’s trajectory on February 13, 2029. While there is a bit of a comfort zone, this is only an estimated trajectory. We still don’t know what effect Earth’s gravity might have on the approaching asteroid.

Some speculate that Apophis could be “pulled” closer to the earth creating a much greater chance of impact.

It would literally be hell on earth if this were to occur, and because of our dependence on tech and our current societal infrastructure, most people would simply not know how to react. We would literally be thrown back into the stone age in a matter of days or weeks, and it would be a long, slow recovery if a major asteroid hit a city or a coastline in proximity to a major city. More than half of the world’s population lives near or within 50 miles of the coast.

The current trajectory prediction, has it passing over the United States after 6pm ET on Friday, February 13, 2029. It will be visible to most North Eastern and North Central residents.

2029 also makes the last year, 1,999 years since the last dispensation began, for that was the day Christ rose from the dead, an event which ushered in a new age, or dispensation.

We know from the Urantia Book that dispensations are periodic and usually occur just before, or just after a divine revelation occurs, and since we have been informed that the Urantia text is a revelation, what we don’t know is whether a dispensation has passed, or is about to occur. Could this eclipse, the subsequent asteroid, coupled with a world war or some societal calamity finally crack civilization into pieces, setting us back a thousand years or more?

URANTIA BOOK CREDIBILITY

Let me add one more item to give my conspiracy some weight.

As I explained in my 2015 book, The Urantia Papers: Exploring a New Revelation, one of the remarkable things about the Urantia Book is that it correctly asserts a multiple of scientific positions that have all later proven correct.

Let me offer one that lends credibility to its claim of authenticity:

In the paper narrating the birth of Jesus and the legend of the Star of Bethlehem, the author states that, in the year of Jesus birth (7BC), there was a conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter that occurred three times that year. The dates of this conjunction are May 29th, September 29th and December 5th in 7 BC.

These dates, though seemingly plucked out of thin air, are accurate and can be proven by astronomy star-map tracking programs.

Dr. Phillip Calabrese, a retired University of San Diego teacher who also holds a degree in mathematics and physics says the statistical chance of correctly guessing three exact dates from over two-thousand years ago, and choosing the correct planets and the correct constellation, tabulates to a greater than ten-million to one chance they would be correct.

There is little chance these dates were approximated or randomly guessed in 1934, when the Urantia Book was written.

And yet….

Has anyone ever explained the now famous astronomical event (the Star of Bethlehem) with this kind of pinpoint accuracy?

The answer is no. Does anyone clsim to know why a brilliant star led three Iranian priests to seek out a newborn baby in Jerusalem?

This astronomical event isn’t recorded as being significant in any publication except the Bible as an supposed ‘miraculous’ event, but more reasonably explained by verifiable science in the Urantia Book – just as this same book also provides for Jesus’ birth date- which many scholars now believe most likely did occur in the late summer or fall, when census was known to have taken place in Jerusalem (as detailed in the biblical narrative), and just as we are now provided, by the text, the actual resurrection date of Saturday, April 8, 30AD, which can be absolutely confirmed by modern dating programs as falling on Saturday in AD 30.

Look for the signs of the changing seasons.

All if this speculation proves nothing. It only proves that there could be some sign being given to us, depending on our interpretation of said events, and how much these things may be coincidences – but also might be symbolic involving several different circumstances taking place simultaneously now on our world at this time.

There is simmering global turmoil, a solar eclispe that puts us in a seven year reconciliation periodic that has direct links to Christ, and a potential astronomical calamity that, in addition to be prophecied, could also take place at about the time humanity is entering a new millineum.

Or it could be the fanciful imagination of a blogger who is able to loosely piece together a rather interesting conspiracy, pulling strands from space, as it were, that have interesting – if not compelling evidence to suggest something interesting is about to happen?

I welcome your thoughts.

What The Word URANTIA Means

In this brief video presentation we look at the word URANTIA, where its root meanings comes from and why it is the name given to us as the name of our world.

Interesting word, indeed.

Check it out:

Heaven Just Delivered A Huge Data Drop

There are four key distinctions that set the Urantia Book apart from other theologies; these distinctions, or positions on reality, are unique only to the Urantia Book.

These four distinctions might be considered revelatory in scope and originality because, prior to 1955, these expanded concepts were non-existent in mainstream theological teachings.

Since 1955, when the Urantia Book became available, hundreds of thousands of readers have had a chance to study the text (over a million copies have been sold or downloaded); most are convinced the concepts are both possible and authentically original, hence their revelatory nature.

Consider these points in what the Urantia Book states:

   1. Eschatological Specifics on the Hierarchy of God’s Cosmic Family or “Offspring.” The Urantia Book provides specific details on who Deity is and its relationship to a long and exhaustive list of personality beings (including ourselves) who comprise the universe at the present time, beings we are told who do the work of universal administration and spiritual ministry throughout time and space.

Pause to consider that, long before our own solar system was formed, there was space and time evolution – 14 billion years of space and time, according to our theorists, plenty of time for other beings of varying natures to have been “born” or to have “come into existence,” in ways we can not even comprehend.  In the Urantia Book narrative, we are presented with the entire cosmic offspring of Deity –  made up of spiritual and material personalities with specific functions and purpose  – we are even told their names. The specificity given is both consistent and comprehensive.

    2. Life after Death. We now have a specific and detailed narrative of what happens when we die, even being told the process of actual resurrection. The Urantia Book provides at least 4 specific chapters on the ascension process and what transpires between the time we pass from this life and what happens when we resurrect as newly born spirit-ascendant beings. No other theology dares an attempt to explain the process of personality or soul survival, but most religions propose an afterlife reality. The Urantia Book provides a plausible construct that is both logical AND comforting to all people who believe such a spiritual afterlife is not only possible, but inevitable.

    3. Extra Terrestrial, or Exo-Planetary Life. The Urantia Book is the only book (of which I am aware) that fully embraces the notion of ‘other worlds with life;’ going further, the Urantia Book expands upon this concept to include an entire universe of life-evolving spheres home to races and species of varying types. While none of this can be proven of course, the Urantia Book is the first extensive theology that combines evolutionary physical life (coordinated and administered to by spiritual beings) that runs parallel with an advanced spiritual community that awaits us when we pass from this life to the next.

In short, the Urantia Book describes a universe filled with ascendant beings just like ourselves who, at some point, will  progress away from the mortal time-space realm to a more advanced non-material realm. the Urantia Book states it is this reality that is actually happening now, we just don’t see it because 1) we are not spiritually advanced, 2) previous revelations that would have informed us of this fact (of other, more spiritually-advanced life forms) were cut-short and eventually lost to the world, and 3) we have yet to discover any life forms beyond our own to substantiate these claims.

Astronomers now believe that there are most likely millions of worlds with life. When the Urantia Book was written in 1934 hardly anyone believed life was possible outside of our solar system (remember the goldilocks premise?). Hence the Urantia Book is not only advanced in presenting ET life, but goes into great detail on the kinds of life we can expect to discover once these discoveries are made (The Urantia Book states there is, in  “close proximity”  a world of living will creatures called “Non-breathers;” some believe this world may be one of the moons of Jupiter or Saturn).

    4. The Exhaustive Narrative of Jesus’s Life and Teachings. In no other writing is there such an exhaustive retelling of Jesus’s entire life that is both consistent with the Gospels (though not in all of their teachings and interpretations of events recorded in the New Testament), and is also historically accurate when depicting the cultural and living conditions of the times in which Jesus lived. The stated reason for this retelling is because Jesus’ life was not only significant to us, but the universe found great significance of his mortal life because Jesus was an incarnated Son of God the Father, “an only begotten Son,” who choose our world to live as a human being to reveal the Fathers’ nature and personality, and also to experience life as a mortal human being.

To summarize our thesis, we claim the Urantia Book is a revelation of new information because of at least four distinctions that sets this text apart from other theological teachings, which include:

    1. The spirit world specifically detailed

   2. A full narration of the after life is explained

   3. An explanation of life on other worlds is presented and explained (which is consistent with current astronomic theory)

   4. A full description of Jesus’ life, including his death, resurrection and subsequent ascendency after Pentecost.

These distinctions are important because they denote potential transition of human development IF this revelation gains acceptance.

This is what revelation does. It pushes evolution along (and it usually starts with a small group of “early adapters”). Once the printing press was invented illiteracy decreased and human knowledge increased, Having increased, human behavior starts to change faster, which is what we saw in the 17th and 18th Century. Once we harnessed electricity human engagement and performance became more efficient and productive – and life changed rapidly.

In spiritual terms, once Jesus lived and taught new truth – and we saw that resurrection was possible – another world was opened to humanity, a world which included not just our life in the flesh, but an eternal life of continuous adventure and learning.

Religion has evolved tremendously since Jesus’s time.  And so it is that if the Urantia Book is a true revelation, then it too will open the doors to new human understanding, and further, we will have gained new spiritual insight as to our purpose and destiny as will creatures of soul-potential, and as citizens of this beautiful blue planet they call Urantia.

When Truth No Longer Matters

Anyone who has read the Urantia Book, and in particular, Part 3 on our history, knows that when societies aren’t spiritually hungry, they perish. When man stops looking for the truth, eternal truth, then that man’s days are really numbered.

In paper 195 we are instructed “a society without God is like a solar system without gravity,” meaning there is nothing to hold it together. God is the central force and figure, the stabilizer, the purpose and the origin of life itself. To ignore God is to really ignore true reality, which means a society that ignores God is really a society that is living in its own reality and that reality cannot sustain itself.

When Jesus asked about the end times, and his return, or when the world is about to go through tribulation he said to “look for the signs,”  just as you would observe the changing leafs of a tree when new seasons come.

I see the signs and they are not good. Religious affiliation is down, socialism is on the rise, authoritative totalitarian regimes are gaining strength, drug abuse and the drug trade are exploding, suicides and insanity are increasing (promoted by an over-zealous medical industry that believes everyone one is suffering from something, and therefore must be treated).

The most powerful, influential and wealthy country on the planet is sick, very sick. But at the root of this sickness is that, for the most part, society has given up on God. He is not talked about, he is not referred to (except in relation to social rights or social justice), and outside of church or some religious programming, mainstream media ignores God and anything to do with Jesus.

I am not an evangelical. I am not a Christian as you might define the word, but I do believe in the truths that Jesus taught and I do believe in Him, who came to represent the Father and to show us the way. So I say this with great sadness and even some contempt: How dare we turn our backs on eternal principles when we are the recipients of so much wealth and luxury – at the hands of the millions of people who suffered and toiled so we could have what we have today? How is it that our political leaders have become so corrupted, and our media and all that it represents  has also become so vacuous, pornographic and vulgar? And why do the non-religious hate Christ so much that they are willing to tear down statues for fear of offending someone? From whence comes this great offense that a spiritual figure would cause such pain?

Can we not see the seeds of our own destruction? Can we not hear the cries of the lonely and the despondent for salvation and redemption in a world so cruel that we even now pass laws that allow doctors to kill babies after they are born just to protect a “woman’s right to choose?” (I understand the necessity in a promiscuous society to provide life planning options to young people who may not be prepared for child-rearing, but the line of decency keeps getting pushed back where we don’t even see our own cruelty because it has become categorized as a “right”).

Urantia (Earth) is a troubled-planet. From the very first human, we have been slightly askew, different from the rest of our cosmic brethren. We know that Michael chose our world for his seventh bestowal because we were backward and lost, and while I am grateful there are still millions upon millions of people who have found God through Jesus, it’s not the flock who frighten me. It’s the other 60 percent of humanity who are quite frightening, and off course.

Books like the Urantia Book should have appeal to people looking for a smart and consistent religious faith, but admittingly, it’s not for everyone. I know this truth, but I also know the number of people who read the Urantia Book is growing, and this gives me comfort. It’s why I do this blog and Urantia Radio broadcasts, to keep the beacon of hope bright for those who are passing ships looking for safe harbor.

To the future we look and see mystery, but if the past is any indication, then we are in for a very rocky ride. Strap yourself in.

In God we must trust, indeed.

Humanity: Chapter Two

Tim Berners-Lee, the creator of the web, recently spoke at a conference to celebrate thirty-years of the Internet as we know it today.

Tim, to his credit, says he has no regrets about the invention, he just wishes humanity would use it wisely and stop using it to spread hate and commit crimes.
Was it a suprise to us that giving such a high grade of technology to everyone so quickly would result in humanity misusing this wonderful gift?
   Of course not.
Are we surprised that millions of people with unbridled freedom to do whatever they want was to be unexpected?
Like everything else, our bad and reckless behavior will eventually lead to new restriction of freedoms thorough rules and regulations. It’s why we have stop lights, and stringent FAA rules so that planes don’t crash into each other.

Man, among his many skills, will always regulate through common decree once our behavior poses a threat.
Moving beyond this reality, I’d like to circle back around to the point of why it is we exploit, rather than explore when we have new tools like the Internet to help us?
We have become stupid, more stupid than we were a generation ago.

We might think we are progressive, woke, or somehow more enlightened than previous generations, but I don’t see the evidence.
I see plenty of evidence that shows we are less civil, less patient, less loving, less loyal and less wise than ever before.
The worst of human nature reflects something that has been lost. The thing that has been lost is our religious ideals of the hunger of truth discernment and our desire to gain wisdom, and it is our connection with the spiritual aspects of reality we have lost interest in, the invisible things that tie us together as souls of human progress, it is these things that we no longer seem interested in that have slowed intellectual development.
What we forget that, in the morass, is the reality that man is naturally belligerent; we came from the forests, the caves, the hilltops.
Our natural state is beastly, evil, selfish. It is only because we have morality – and an ethical compass – that we have been able to rise above our more negative, brutal impulses and tendencies.
And it wasn’t that long ago, in geological terms, that we were completely debased in most of our behavior towards one snother.
All races have enslaved each other at some time in the past. The truth is we are all actually very privileged to live in this time, and in this age, and if one is really lucky, this country.
Many forget so recently a time when disease and poverty ravaged the world.

It was not that long ago we all, en masse, were migrants from somewhere else, save for a few who managed to be born into, or accomplished, wealth through good fortune and perhaps even hard work.
My point is that mankind still has much to learn.    Berners-Lee has only known growing up in a world with law and order, and incredible technology that helps us forget how – excuse the term but it is appropriate – shitty it was for most of humanity for the past few hundred thousand years.

Handing someone a smart phone, giving them all of the luxury of the modern world, does not make him wise if his nature is still debased.
The real question is when do we actually mature as an intelligent species up and stop acting like children?!
Socialism, as a form of government isn’t the answer. Unbridled greed, unearned wealth, and liberty without license are also not reflective of an advanced society, either.
People need to to work, and privileges need to be earned. But it doesn’t have to come through the strong arm of government regulation; it should come organically from within, instilled by the family, promoted and nurtured by the community, encouraged and rewarded by the society, a society that values service to one another as truly worthy of enlightened individuals, and of our own individual choosing to be this way, inspired by a desire to be perfect, even as ‘He is perfect,’ the Father of all creation.
I believe mankind is about to learn, through this revelation (TUB), or other revelations, that man is not alone in the cosmos, and we will probably learn soon enough that other advanced worlds do worship Deity.

It is possible the next few generations of people will start to realize the Urantia Book is an authentic revelation, and that we are on a spiritual path – with specific goals to achieve – as we move towards that future age of light and life, as the Father intended.
We are an experimental world, so anything can happen.
Berners-Lee reminds me of the very stark fact that despite earthly wisdom, if there is not spiritual wisdom in operation throughout mankind, we are really more animal and less spiritual. It is this aspect of humanity that has to change if we are to rid ourselves of the beast within.
——————-

The Spiritual Crisis

While there is much concern by many that the planet is being destroyed by man-made climate change (of which I do not believe is true), I would draw attention to a more serious crisis that has to do with the inner climate, the climate of the soul, of the human heart and the spiritual darkness that currently hovers over humanity.

It isn’t even a matter of statistical evidence showing the world is becoming less religious, because I do not believe that is true either. What concerns this author is the behavior of humanity.        Simply put, we are lost. There is no consensus about direction. I have spoken about this in my video-casts on how the term progress applies to humanity.  What you determine to be progress is not happening on a spiritual level. God is a hazy concept. Our ability to conceptualize an eternal spiritual creator is almost completely lost in todays’ society,  getting hazier by the way.

Chief behind this spiritual decadence is two-fold, a glut of materialism, and poor leadership that is void of spiritual direction on all levels. No one is looking at the long-term spiritual direction or even conceiving of what value spirituality brings to mankind.  Without a keen sense of spiritual purpose we are wandering in the forest without a compass. We are not outraged by the fact, for example, that millions of people are being tortured every single day because of religious oppression. We are not outraged by the fact that abortions worldwide are embraced as human right when the death of a human is involved – and yet this strikes no one as strange because there is no moral clarity on what truly is right, instead of what are just our “rights.”

There is far too much to unpack here, but needless to say, mankind is in a spiritual crisis much more serious than the supposed climate crisis. This more personal crisis, a world without a clearer understanding of the presence of, and a desire to do the will of a spiritual creator is, in my humble opinion, a real existential crisis of eternal proportions.

God is under no mandate to keep us going if we do not make the right choices about human destiny. It is not by fiat that this world is ours and we are free to behave as we please.

The Urantia Book is a revelation, so with this subject in mind, and as it pertains to our societal evolution, it behooves us to go back to the beginning in the Urantia Book and start fresh, from the beginning, the first real presentation of spiritual truth to hit this world since Andon and Fonta first walked this earth over 997,000 years ago.

What is Progress?

So often these days we about the Progressives, or how the world is divided between the Nationalists, and the Globalists, each seeking to dominate society. But what is true progress? Where is the mother ship of humanity headed, and are we to assume that true progress is the end-game, but who’s endgame? The Progressive globalist or the conservative, traditional nationalist?

In this brief video we introduce the subject of Progress and what it means for humanity as we look to that future age of Light and Life as described in the Urantia Book.

The Importance of History

One of the many reasons I love the Urantia Book is because it puts reality into context.

For example, Papers 69 to 70 retell the story of mans’ early beginnings as a communal and social creature. We have forgotten our past and so the behavior we see today in the world is a direct result of us having become so detached from the past; we have forgotten the pain and suffering of humanity over millennia and we take for granted our ease of life today, so much so that we act like crying babies who want our bottle and we want it NOW.

Man is not so far removed from the jungle from whence he came, and our selfish and self-centered behavior today warrants a trip back in time to review our early beginnings, which I hope you will do by streaming Urantia Radio.com all of this week.

We are reminded through the recital of these papers how and why certain societies emerge, what conditions influence migration, what the “rules” are in any society between otherwise bellicose people.

The authors of the book, the ones who were there and took note of our long ascent to lordship of the earth, put to rest any notion that entitlement behavior is acceptable as “rights” simply because we born into this time.

The law of evolutionary struggle is very clear, there is no room for entitlement or so-called Human Rights, at least as far as it concerns what we are entitled to simply by birthright. Man ascends because of hardship, while today our world is all about ease-seeking. We seek to minimize pain as an antidote from true happiness that only comes from real effort. Man was destined to work, to put the effort into the outcome, but life only becomes about comfort and material things, life becomes superficial, and this is why superficiality rules the western world today.

I love these four papers on the evolution of society and government. I hope you enjoy listening as well.

These are the lessons of the past. What you are hearing many are hearing for the first time ever on UrantiaRadio.com

Enjoy!

The Most High and The Supreme Court – The Divine Connection and Why it Matters

by JR Watkins

As I watch the Senate confirmation hearings on Judge Kavanaugh, I can’t help to think of how the greatest country on earth, indeed, perhaps even the greatest country in history, has made a sham of what should be a completely respected process in which we decide to choose the next Supreme Court Justice nominee to sit in the country’s highest judicial office.

Partisanship has infected the process and it does not bode well for our Republic.

In Scripture, we are instructed that “The Most High rules in the kingdoms of men,” (Daniel 4:17). The takeaway is that in spirit, God rules over the many kingdoms of men in those nations that uphold the rule of law and pursue godly objectives. Hence, our country, founded on representative government in which all citizens are subject to the rule of law based on godly principles (truth, fairness, justice and mercy), are given divine favor and grace.

In heaven, I believe that the Trinity, our Father, his Son and his Spirit, represent the Supreme Court of heaven; they are our judges, and we are assured that in God’s kingdom, divine justice and mercy are guaranteed to the faith sons of God; America’s Supreme Court reflects a morsel of this divine justice, and so it is a privilege for all of us that our country at least seeks to mete out justice in a godly fashion, in so far as the process isn’t polluted by partisanship.

I have faith in the outcome of our due process, I have faith that as long as our country is premised on the notion that we are “endowed by our Creator,” our system of government will survive – despite its imperfections.

Pause to consider that the American system is an experiment, a result of the age-long struggle of tribes to ascertain a divine goal, to be perfect in its effort to guarantee that all human beings are afforded true justice and mercy. And this is why our government, which has as its foundation, three branches of authority to prevent tyranny, echoes the Most High government of God, displayed in the balance of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of our Republic, just as God the Father (Justice), God the Son, (Mercy) and God the Spirit (Fairness) is shown as how the Most High rules in the kingdoms of enlightened men and women.

And this is exactly why partisanship – which is nothing more than short-term political pandering to one side of a political ideology, undermines the sanctity of our Republic, which should be based in part, on a judicial body that is blind to ideology, and only concerned with meting out justice, fairness and mercy in a supposed enlightened society.

To reduce the process of selecting a new Supreme Court Justice to a mere debate on abortion, gay rights and whether or not the wife of the nominee displayed a “white supremacist” hand signal is, frankly, an embarrassment. It is not worthy of a nation who, at least in theory, tries to mirror the Most Highs who rule in the kingdoms of men.
