(Reposted from May 2019)

Even if you just extrapolate the intersectional coincidence of two consecutive solar eclipses occurring seven years apart – and at the exact location of a huge Christian cross, the incident itself is quite extraordinary.

Why the press never picked up on this event is astounding, after all, isn’t every day you have two consecutive solar eclipses criss-cross on a huge cross that just happens to be at the right place at the right time – 7 years apart!

Let’s back up so I can unpack this for you.

On August 21, 2017 the United States was in a perfect position to observe a solar eclipse that started in Northwest Oregon and crossed as it were, like a black marker being written on a map, from the Northwest to the Southeast U.S.

The next solar eclipse, slated for April 8, 2024, will take a perpendicular path that intersects near Carbondale, Ill, in the Shawnee National Forest at the exact site of an 1,100- foot cross known as the Bald Knob Cross of Peace.

Cool, right? A criss-cross eclipse intersects at the exact spot where there happens to be a gigantic “cross of peace.”

Okay, so a solar eclipse isn’t that rare, nor are crosses of large size and structure, so while cool in concept, not as uncommon as one might think. It isn’t as random, statistically speaking, that such an event doesn’t occur whenever any eclipse criss-crosses; it’s just a humorous happenstance.

   Until you observe the dates.

August 21 and April 8 share two distinctions that very few people know about, and the fact that they share this distinction makes it self evident that if there was ever a sign from heaven, this might be it – if you knew what you were looking for….

You see, there is an obscure and unknown book called The Urantia Book that, in addition to many things, also claims to be a new revelation of truth.

One large section of The Urantia Book is a 700-plus narrative of the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. In this section, they state that Jesus was born on August 21, 7BC (later adjusted from the Julian, to the now used Gregorian calendar).  This narrative also states that Jesus was crucified on Friday, April 7th, 30 AD, and he rose on Sunday morning April 9th at 3am. If you account for the fact that Sunday 3am in Jerusalem is still 6pm Saturday night in the U.S.,  or, if we speculate that the process of Jesus’ resurrection probably took place on Saturday (the intervening time between his death and his resurrection) either way, we could agree that Saturday April 8th was the day  Jesus “returned from the bosom of the Father” to rise as the resurrected Christ (dating software we can confirm that April 8th, AD 30 did fall on a Saturday)

So back to our solar eclipse.

How strange is it that two eclipses, seven years apart (seven is a spiritual number), occurring on two significant dates (Jesus’ birthday and Jesus’ resurrection day) intersecting as they did, on the exact site where there is an enormous Christian symbol?

What can we deduce from this event?

Some have suggested that, taking this event into account as I have described, the solar event marks a seven-year “tribulation,” a time of making choices about one’s spiritual commitment; that this event symbolizes a period from the “birth of Jesus to the death and re-birth of Jesus as the Christ suggesting an intervening period of reconciliation and dawning of a new age.

Halpert Katzen, a Urantia Book researcher who attended the first eclipse in 2017, and also drew the same comparisons in noticing the coincidental eclipse, also adds the connection to the Shawnee National Forest is significant because its Native American Prophet is actually mentioned in the Urantia Book (with regard to true spiritual teachers who arise from time to time in human history):

(90:2:9) Ever and anon, true prophets and teachers arose to denounce and expose shamanism. Even the vanishing red man had such a prophet within the past hundred years, the Shawnee Tenskwatawa, who predicted the eclipse of the sun in 1806 and denounced the vices of the white man.

For Katzen, he senses the two eclipses signify a period of choosing, or perhaps a closing of one dispensation, or “age” and the beginning of another.

And he might not be alone in this assessment of “end times” forecasting.

THE THIRD CONNECTION

While most mainline Christians have no knowledge of this particular event with relation to the Urantia Book, many evangelical teachings today denote this period as the “end times,” using quotes from Revelations as examples of prophecy:

(Rev 8: 10-12)  10 “The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— 11 the name of the star is Wormwood.[a] A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.

12 The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark.A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.”

Many believe, because of statements like these littered throughout scripture, that a natural event like an impact of a destructive comet or asteroid is actually prophesied to occur during the “end days,” and this event may actually usher in a new era that lasts ‘a thousand years.’

So we now can draw our attention to an event that is timed to occur just after an extremely unusual second eclipse, and an equally important astronomical event set to occur just before the 2000th anniversary of Jesus’ resurrection, all of this set to occur in the year 2029 when earth will have a strange and spectacular visitor.

Of course scientist are saying today that the asteroid, called Apophis (The Greek God of Destruction) will miss earth by 19,000 miles. But it’s ten years from now, even just a slight deviation in the Earth’s trajectory or speed, or that of the asteroid, by even a few seconds or minutes over the 3,652 days between now and then could spell disaster on a global scale.

In the picture below you see the earth and the thousands of satellites circling the earth’s orbit. To the right you see Apophis’s trajectory on February 13, 2029. While there is a bit of a comfort zone, this is only an estimated trajectory. We still don’t know what effect Earth’s gravity might have on the approaching asteroid.

Some speculate that Apophis could be “pulled” closer to the earth creating a much greater chance of impact.

It would literally be hell on earth if this were to occur, and because of our dependence on tech and our current societal infrastructure, most people would simply not know how to react. We would literally be thrown back into the stone age in a matter of days or weeks, and it would be a long, slow recovery if a major asteroid hit a city or a coastline in proximity to a major city. More than half of the world’s population lives near or within 50 miles of the coast.

The current trajectory prediction, has it passing over the United States after 6pm ET on Friday, February 13, 2029. It will be visible to most North Eastern and North Central residents.

2029 also makes the last year, 1,999 years since the last dispensation began, for that was the day Christ rose from the dead, an event which ushered in a new age, or dispensation.

We know from the Urantia Book that dispensations are periodic and usually occur just before, or just after a divine revelation occurs, and since we have been informed that the Urantia text is a revelation, what we don’t know is whether a dispensation has passed, or is about to occur. Could this eclipse, the subsequent asteroid, coupled with a world war or some societal calamity finally crack civilization into pieces, setting us back a thousand years or more?

URANTIA BOOK CREDIBILITY

Let me add one more item to give my conspiracy some weight.

As I explained in my 2015 book, The Urantia Papers: Exploring a New Revelation, one of the remarkable things about the Urantia Book is that it correctly asserts a multiple of scientific positions that have all later proven correct.

Let me offer one that lends credibility to its claim of authenticity:

In the paper narrating the birth of Jesus and the legend of the Star of Bethlehem, the author states that, in the year of Jesus birth (7BC), there was a conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter that occurred three times that year. The dates of this conjunction are May 29th, September 29th and December 5th in 7 BC.

These dates, though seemingly plucked out of thin air, are accurate and can be proven by astronomy star-map tracking programs.

Dr. Phillip Calabrese, a retired University of San Diego teacher who also holds a degree in mathematics and physics says the statistical chance of correctly guessing three exact dates from over two-thousand years ago, and choosing the correct planets and the correct constellation, tabulates to a greater than ten-million to one chance they would be correct.

There is little chance these dates were approximated or randomly guessed in 1934, when the Urantia Book was written.

And yet….

Has anyone ever explained the now famous astronomical event (the Star of Bethlehem) with this kind of pinpoint accuracy?

The answer is no. Does anyone clsim to know why a brilliant star led three Iranian priests to seek out a newborn baby in Jerusalem?

This astronomical event isn’t recorded as being significant in any publication except the Bible as an supposed ‘miraculous’ event, but more reasonably explained by verifiable science in the Urantia Book – just as this same book also provides for Jesus’ birth date- which many scholars now believe most likely did occur in the late summer or fall, when census was known to have taken place in Jerusalem (as detailed in the biblical narrative), and just as we are now provided, by the text, the actual resurrection date of Saturday, April 8, 30AD, which can be absolutely confirmed by modern dating programs as falling on Saturday in AD 30.

Look for the signs of the changing seasons.

All if this speculation proves nothing. It only proves that there could be some sign being given to us, depending on our interpretation of said events, and how much these things may be coincidences – but also might be symbolic involving several different circumstances taking place simultaneously now on our world at this time.

There is simmering global turmoil, a solar eclispe that puts us in a seven year reconciliation periodic that has direct links to Christ, and a potential astronomical calamity that, in addition to be prophecied, could also take place at about the time humanity is entering a new millineum.

Or it could be the fanciful imagination of a blogger who is able to loosely piece together a rather interesting conspiracy, pulling strands from space, as it were, that have interesting – if not compelling evidence to suggest something interesting is about to happen?

I welcome your thoughts.

URANTIARADIOLOGO

5 Things Everyone Wants To Know

What five astonishing things people want to believe are true and are disclosed in the Urantia Book?

Consider the following:

1. Life on other worlds is common, we are not alone

2. The universe is administered to by highly spiritual and loving beings whom we we will meet someday, including those loved ones who passed on.

3. We, as a society, are supposed to be progressing towards universal peace and goodwill, it is our destiny as a species because we are indwelt by Deity for that purpose. Hence the mandate in the Bible, “Be your perfect even as I am perfect.”

4. That Jesus really was a high order Son – the literal Son of God, who came to live as a mortal man for the specific and planned purpose of revealing new truth to humanity about God’s nature, but that his message got absorbed by a lot of different religions that pushed his teachings into several different directions. But that his entire life is of record – and is now accessible.

5. That there is an afterlife and each of us have equal standing in being able to be a part of that afterlife, but that our choices here now, do matter, not so much with our survival, which we receive through faith, but with our own inner growth.

God 2.0

God Must Be Redefined

The spirit of religion is eternal, but the form of its expression must be restated every time the dictionary of human language is revised. (UB 99:1:6)

The revelators tell us that the father concept is the highest concept we can have of our heavenly father-creator.

“The Father idea is still the highest human concept of God.” (UB 196:3:35)

It’s the last sentence in the book. But what of a generation, or even a world, of which half of the children are born out of wedlock and these children never know their father? What of their concepts of a loving heavenly father?

Do you think today’s young person will cling to the idea of a loving father as God?

We know Jesus portrayed God as a loving father, and we know that the father concept is appropriate when loving fathers are what populate the majority of a truly progressive civilization. When the strong family-unit is emphasized, then yes, God as a father is a perfect concept because a society of children who know what a loving father is makes its best appeal when we then present God as the ideal spiritual parent.

Today’s world is different. You know this. God must be redefined to appeal to a new generation of people who may not understand the fraternal connection, who may not understand the value of fatherhood as a spiritual concept, or even of the way our ancestors showed respect for the father-figure. How, then, do we convey the loving character of the Creator, the Deity Supreme, as real?

How do we make God make sense to a new generation of Nones?

God-consciousness is inherent in us. People are hard-wired to seek truth, and the desire to seek, find and understand truth is a spiritual cause.

Only the spirit value of any experience survives the mortal experience.

Let’s pour new wine into new wineskins and stay away from the ghost-cultish old wine-skin way of thinking about God is an anthropomorphic angry white guy whose main job is to make you feel guilty all of the time.

We need to update to God 2.0

Consider these last two paragraphs from the Urantia Book.

196:3.34 (2097.2) The great challenge to modern man is to achieve better communication with the divine Monitor that dwells within the human mind. Man’s greatest adventure in the flesh consists in the well-balanced and sane effort to advance the borders of self-consciousness out through the dim realms of embryonic soul-consciousness in a wholehearted effort to reach the borderland of spirit-consciousness—contact with the divine presence. Such an experience constitutes God-consciousness, an experience mightily confirmative of the pre-existent truth of the religious experience of knowing God. Such spirit-consciousness is the equivalent of the knowledge of the actuality of sonship with God. Otherwise, the assurance of sonship is the experience of faith.

196:3.35 (2097.3) And God-consciousness is equivalent to the integration of the self with the universe, and on its highest levels of spiritual reality. Only the spirit content of any value is imperishable. Even that which is true, beautiful, and good may not perish in human experience. If man does not choose to survive, then does the surviving Adjuster conserve those realities born of love and nurtured in service. And all these things are a part of the Universal Father. The Father is living love, and this life of the Father is in his Sons. And the spirit of the Father is in his Sons’ sons—mortal men. When all is said and done, the Father idea is still the highest human concept of God.

…and then there is this nugget from the first paper in the Urantia Book where it talks about God’s name as Deity is known and expressed throughout the known universe of intelligent living beings.

1:1.3 (22.6) When you have once become truly God-conscious, after you really discover the majestic Creator and begin to experience the realization of the indwelling presence of the divine controller, then, in accordance with your enlightenment and in accordance with the manner and method by which the divine Sons reveal God, you will find a name for the Universal Father which will be adequately expressive of your concept of the First Great Source and Center. And so, on different worlds and in various universes, the Creator becomes known by numerous appellations, in spirit of relationship all meaning the same but, in words and symbols, each name standing for the degree, the depth, of his enthronement in the hearts of his creatures of any given realm.

In the end, whatever your designation of what God is, only represents your own highest concept of what you think Deity represents. But in any scenario God must also be a personality, even the source of all personality, just as we are personalities who can know and be known.

A Virus, Angels and a Revelation

I have to admit, I’m not an end-of-the world kinna of guy, but this coronavirus thing has me a little worried, and it serves as a great reason to explore why having this revelation is especially vital during these times. Jesus reminded us to discern the turning of the leaves and the changing seasons.

No doubt the coronavirus is starting to get people’s attention. The ramifications of its spread should provide people with a reason to worry, especially since there is no vaccine. The world is so interconnected that what happens to 1.4 billion people affects everyone on numerous levels, least among them is the fact that people die from this sickness and it spreads easily, not to mention the economic effects that will ripple to every corner of the earth. I wouldn’t say God is causing this or punishing us, but clearly mankind is being tested for his “less than spiritual behavior” that has brought us to this event (I will get to China in just a moment).

Now, I have no doubt that we are in good hands, as we are told about in Paper 113 of the Urantia Book, that among the seraphic personalities who minister and care for us during our earthly sojourn, “are the seraphic ministers assigned to the assistance of those mortal agencies dedicated to the promotion of health and the prevention of disease.”

Seems pretty clear. While our earth doctors and biologists seek containment and hopefully find a cure, the angels of health are assisting in this endeavor. I believe this because I believe the revelation. We would remember that we Urantians are at a bit of a disadvantage to withstand some diseases because we failed to get the full measure of Adams’ blood 40,000 years ago, so we would be correct to accept the premise that angelic influence would better aid us in finding a cure for not just the COVID-19 virus, but all diseases that affect us. Our spiritual administrators want us to be healthy, even when our own bad behavior causes us to be sick.

But how do they help?

113:4.3 (1245.3) Seraphim function as teachers of men by guiding the footsteps of the human personality into paths of new and progressive experiences. To accept the guidance of a seraphim rarely means attaining a life of ease.

“…the urge to pray so often experienced by God-conscious mortals very often arises as the result of seraphic influence. The guarding seraphim is constantly manipulating the mortal environment for the purpose of augmenting the cosmic insight of the human ascender to the end that such a survival candidate may acquire enhanced realization.”

“They are not overlords or directors; they are simply guardians. The seraphim guard you; they do not seek directly to influence you; you must chart your own course, but these angels then act to make the best possible use of the course you have chosen.”

There is a quote where it states angels will bring like-minded people together, sometimes by manipulating the environment, or having forethought to coordinate events in such a way as to provide a favorable environment of unity function between minds given to a specific task or project – like finding a cure for a global virus, perhaps?

We are are told that people are at their best in crisis, that true character is displayed when heroism and courage are at work. and it is usually in crisis where true character emerges.

From Paper 3, paragraph 5 we are reminded…

The uncertainties of life and the vicissitudes of existence do not in any manner contradict the concept of the universal sovereignty of God. All evolutionary creature life is beset by certain inevitabilities. Consider the following:

1. Is courage—strength of character—desirable? Then must man be reared in an environment which necessitates grappling with hardships and reacting to disappointments.

2. Is altruism—service of one’s fellows—desirable? Then must life experience provide for encountering situations of social inequality.

3. Is hope—the grandeur of trust—desirable? Then human existence must constantly be confronted with insecurities and recurrent uncertainties.

4. Is faith—the supreme assertion of human thought—desirable? Then must the mind of man find itself in that troublesome predicament where it ever knows less than it can believe.

5. Is the love of truth and the willingness to go wherever it leads, desirable? Then must man grow up in a world where error is present and falsehood always possible.

6. Is idealism—the approaching concept of the divine—desirable? Then must man struggle in an environment of relative goodness and beauty, surroundings stimulative of the irrepressible reach for better things.

7. Is loyalty— devotion to highest duty—desirable? Then must man carry on amid the possibilities of betrayal and desertion. The valor of devotion to duty consists in the implied danger of default.

8. Is unselfishness—the spirit of self-forgetfulness—desirable? Then must mortal man live face to face with the incessant clamoring of an inescapable self for recognition and honor. Man could not dynamically choose the divine life if there were no self-life to forsake. Man could never lay saving hold on righteousness if there were no potential evil to exalt and differentiate the good by contrast.

9. Is pleasure—the satisfaction of happiness—desirable? Then must man live in a world where the alternative of pain and the likelihood of suffering are ever-present experiential possibilities.

So, these scenarios, even under the worst of circumstances, become opportunities to see which of us are faithful, loyal, courageous, and are willing to serve a cause higher than ourselves.

But there is another part of this current virus outbreak that gives pause to a greater dilemma of the modern age. The problem of secularism and the fruit it produces.

PART 2: THE DANGERS OF BEING RULED BY SECULAR WORLD GOVERNMENTS

From paper 195 we are warned about the dangers of secularism, about governments and civilizations that think that the secular humanist approach to governing can bring about world peace or universal brotherhood, but never does.

In fact, we are told the opposite, and to look for the unwanted harvest of death and destruction when man loses or discards spiritual truth predicated on the singular notion of a first source and center, a higher purpose other than simple material gain.

Homeless Encampment – Los Angeles – August 2020 – Courtesy AP

From Paper 195, Paragraph 8 on Materialism:

it threatens to establish a new and godless type of mastery over the hearts and minds of modern man. The tyrannical and dictatorial political state is the direct offspring of scientific materialism and philosophic secularism

Also, from the same paragraph:

Twentieth-century secularism tends to affirm that man does not need God. But beware! this godless philosophy of human society will lead only to unrest, animosity, unhappiness, war, and world-wide disaster….Secularism can never bring peace to mankind. Nothing can take the place of God in human society.

From Paragraph 8, 11:

And because the secularistic revolt went too far and lost sight of God and true religion, there also followed the unlooked-for harvest of world wars and international unsettledness.

And then there is this final remark on the dangers of a secular world, Paper 195, Paragraph 8, 13:

The complete secularization of science, education, industry, and society can lead only to disaster. During the first third of the twentieth century Urantians killed more human beings than were killed during the whole of the Christian dispensation up to that time. And this is only the beginning of the dire harvest of materialism and secularism; still more terrible destruction is yet to come.

Also from Paper 195

“Religion is now confronted by the challenge of a new age of scientific minds and materialistic tendencies. In this gigantic struggle between the secular and the spiritual, the religion of Jesus will eventually triumph.”

Christianity – the teachings of Jesus are clearly under attack from the secular East and the Atheist West. Indeed, religious persecution is at a fever-pitch in modern times. Faith itself is under attack as if it a form of danger. The struggle between materialism and secularism is in full swing, between globalists who seek world domination, and those who who are trying to keep the idea of God and spirituality alive and central to human conducr because we (people of faith) assert that without them, we are mere animals part of the animal kingdom, destined for eventual self-annihilation.

No doubt we could see some dark times ahead, just as the Nodites, the Adamites, the early Sumerians, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus dealt with the spiritual blindness of thier times.

We who know spiritual truh, eternal realities and understand God’s purpose must push back against athiestic philosophy and secular totalitarian government. That, and our spiritual growth on this world, must be our first priority if we are the minimize the dark times ahead.

Despite the pandemic, which we know will be controlled eventually, this is where the foot soldiers of faith, the faith-sons and daughters of our creator spiritual father and divine holy spirit will shine. This is our time.

Casting Pearls Before Swine

You want to know what I think about the Urantia Book? I think the world is crying out for this book and they don’t even know it.

I think people in this world are lost and hopeless, and the ones who have great comforts are not bothered by it so much because they are distracted by things, but the overall trajectory of humanity, based on current events, does not look good, and it has nothing to do with climate change or political corruption, or illicit moral decadence. These are symptoms of a greater disease, which is global nihilism.

The Urantia Book is telling us, “hey, don’t you realize you are part of a much larger universe, an ecosystem, if you will, than you even realize?”

And here we are, sitting in darkness.

Evil really does rule the day, and there is rampant evil increasing, but not only evil, but an almost cultish embrace of selfish and exalted humanism that stands to strip every single soul from the bodies in whom they are possessed.

There is less harmony among us. It is even more dire when you consider the rise in the tyranny of oppressive governments and regimes who enslave people, either by ideology or by restrictions of liberty, where we have hundreds of millions of people dying or being deprived right now of basic human needs every single day

“The complete secularization of science, education, industry, and society can lead only to disaster. … And this is only the beginning of the dire harvest of materialism and secularism; still more terrible destruction is yet to come.” (UB 195:8:13)

On the one hand we have excelled in science, The arts, technology and communications, but on the other hand, people are lonely and sick, hungry, for food, and for truth, and here you have this wonderful book that contains the entire picture of reality—truth in beautiful form.

The Urantia Book puts forth thousands of spiritual concepts that provide real human insight into the cause and purpose of our existence.

Many have said the Urantia Book is arguably one of the best constructed documents on the planet, replete with scientific, philosophical and religious truths that stir the soul and imagination, but yet, owing to its unique nature and mysterious origins, remains unknown while life on earth continues to be a living hell for so many.

This book, the Urantia revelation, offers not only a much wider view of reality which gives relief to the complexity of life, but it also presents a living revelation of Jesus, the exhaustive and complete narrative of the life and teachings of Jesus that is destined to resurrect a resurgence in our curiosity of his actual, unabridged teachings.

“What a transcendent service if, through this revelation, the Son of Man should be recovered from the tomb of traditional theology and be presented as the living Jesus to the church that bears his name, and to all other religions! “ (UB 196:1:2)

I challenge you.

Pick it up, read it online.

Spend a half hour reading just one section of a paper in the Jesus section.

Put your preconceived notions aside. Be open to the idea of having something in your hands that has substance and value, and it will touch with its authenticity, as so many others have experienced when perusing the words.

The Urantia Book is a revelation no less important than Adam and Eve, Melchizedek and Jesus, in the sense of this fact: It comes from above.

Now, many of us modern humans scoff at that idea completely. We have accepted the fact that there is no “above.”

300 years of secularism has convinced most of us that belief in heaven and God, or eternal life is not rooted in science, so then you have to kind of ‘sort of believe,’ just because it might give you some comfort. This is how most of us approach religion, almost like a custom. It has become unimportant.

Many say that because we have lost faith we have lost hope.

But.

What if the question of the afterlife and of life in the universe could be satisfactorily answered?

Would that merit some interest?

So hete is the challenge.

You say the world deserves an answer from God, a new message, a new and clear idea of what is going on here, what is the meaning of our life – both here in the flesh and afterwards?

Then if you are sincerely looking for that answer, I strongly urge you to read the Urantia Book.

Not from the beginning, but from a part that interests you.

There are 196 papers, pick one.

It’s not fiction. Consider it God’s history book, the history of God and the future of God’s creation; our world and also a road map to the future.

If the world adopted this book, seriously, we would end wars because we would see the futility of them; we would end the sickness of modernity and the loneliness that comes with it, the moral ambiguity of it all, the feeling that no matter how hard we try, we fail.

We would begin to serve each other.

The Urantia Book reconnects you with a living God, and a living path that inspires you to get up in the morning because you know you are part of something eternal and meaningful.

This new spiritual infusion would provide new grace with accepting the creature-Creator kinship, and people would have hope again.

It would also go along way in preparing us for the next visit of great spiritual importance, whether it be the Son of Man or some other Divine being.

The Urantia Book says to expect this, even multiple times. It has been 20 centuries since people have heard this message.

Will it fall on deaf ears?

We are not alone, we never were.

The universe is filled with angels and ascended beings of all shapes and sizes. Right now there are at least 600 planets within 30- to 50 light years from us that have spawned life, and they too, have a spiritual yearning, and they too, have emerged from savagery, just like us, and we all ascend to be a part of God’s creation which is the expanding universe.

Read about all of this, and your life will be changed because you will know the truth about God’s plan, a real plan that makes sense and doesn’t ask you to give up your intellectual integrity in order to believe it. Faith will make sense, instead of making you feel apprehensive.

There is our challenge. Humanity wants a revelation? We got it.

Now what are we going to do?

Life on Other Worlds

Today it was announced that astronomers have discovered a possibe life-bearing planet a mere 31 light years away.

It’s exciting to think we may very soon discover other life bearing planets. Nothing would excite the human spirit more than new life discovery, it would confirm our suspicions that we are not alone. It might even confirm that if there is one other planet with life, there must be others.

With the exception of the several hundred thousand Urantia Book readers, most of this worlds 6 billion people have no idea what awaits, they have no clue that not only is there life elsewhere, there is abundant life.

In our present grand universe, there are upwards of 700,000 unique universes, each of which has the potential of producing 10,000,000 individual worlds capable of producing evolutionary life, just like us.

The UB lays out the plan throughout the book. Someday Science will know this as will the people of this world, and when the truth does finally reveal that we are not alone, and that there is a spiritual order to life, our world view will change.

And this is what I ponder with every new scientific discovery that confirms what the Urantia Book stated in 1934.

Indeed, these are exciting times.

Screen Shot 2019-05-06 at 12.49.42 PM

God – The Original Bluetooth Signal

The other day I was trying to pair my headset with my laptop through bluetooth.

If you have ever tried to pair a device with bluetooth, it is basically one originating source sending out a signal looking to be “heard” by another device attuned to that frequency.

In my headset when I first wore it and pushed the button to get it to search for my other device I heard the headset saying “pairing,” then a brief pause and another “pairing,” is heard until it finally discovers whatever device is synced to hear that bluetooth’s particular frequency.

While I was doing this, I thought for a moment about the Adjutant Mind Spirits in the Urantia Book (Paper 34), the seven adjutant circuits that register and influence intelligent coordination among all beings throughout time and space, even to the evolutionary worlds, and further, how, using this same bluetooth example, the Adjutants are constantly looking to be “received” by minds hoping to be “paired.”

We are told that the Adjutant Mind Spirits, and there are seven of them, denoted as spirit circuits, are the Spirits of:

Intuition (life preservation)

Understanding (problem-solving)

Cooperation (problem solving with others)

Knowledge (higher functioning accumulated experience)

Counsel (seek and exchange knowledge from others)

Worship (desire to look beyond the physical to the spiritual)

Wisdom (unification of experience on spiritual and physical levels)

These seven “adjutants” are in reality, circuits that emit out into space from the Divine Mother Spirit (or the Holy Spirit, if you prefer) to attempt contact with those beings who possess minds capable of hearing the signal, or can “connect” with the circuit, and in doing so, achieve a new level of mental capacity.

These spirit circuits look to “touch” the minds of creation spread hither and yon, from the lowest animal mind to the highest functioning spirit mind of mortals. Once connection is made, pairing ensues.

This may be why sometimes people feel “spiritual;” as if there is some periodic “connection,” or “pairing” going in when you (as a device) occasionally have the ability to discern truth

As with bluetooth, the farther you wander away from the source, the less reliable the signal becomes until you wander too far and the signal is longer there to guide you.

Also, just like bluetooth, when our minds are filled with interference (emotional distractions or even mental illness), we might find “pairing with the spirit” challenging because our devices (our minds, really) are not propitious to the ‘leadings of the spirit.’

I believe praying calibrates the mind so that connections can be improved and messages can be better understood from God the Spirit. After all, it is our minds that connect with God, not our bodies.

And all of this occurred to me in the blink of any eye one day while setting up my headset, which paired beautifully, I might add.

Heaven Just Delivered A Huge Data Drop

There are four key distinctions that set the Urantia Book apart from other theologies; these distinctions, or positions on reality, are unique only to the Urantia Book.

These four distinctions might be considered revelatory in scope and originality because, prior to 1955, these expanded concepts were non-existent in mainstream theological teachings.

Since 1955, when the Urantia Book became available, hundreds of thousands of readers have had a chance to study the text (over a million copies have been sold or downloaded); most are convinced the concepts are both possible and authentically original, hence their revelatory nature.

Screen Shot 2019-04-22 at 11.20.50 AM

Consider these points in what the Urantia Book states:

   1. Eschatological Specifics on the Hierarchy of God’s Cosmic Family or “Offspring.” The Urantia Book provides specific details on who Deity is and its relationship to a long and exhaustive list of personality beings (including ourselves) who comprise the universe at the present time, beings we are told who do the work of universal administration and spiritual ministry throughout time and space.

Pause to consider that, long before our own solar system was formed, there was space and time evolution – 14 billion years of space and time, according to our theorists, plenty of time for other beings of varying natures to have been “born” or to have “come into existence,” in ways we can not even comprehend.  In the Urantia Book narrative, we are presented with the entire cosmic offspring of Deity –  made up of spiritual and material personalities with specific functions and purpose  – we are even told their names. The specificity given is both consistent and comprehensive.

    2. Life after Death. We now have a specific and detailed narrative of what happens when we die, even being told the process of actual resurrection. The Urantia Book provides at least 4 specific chapters on the ascension process and what transpires between the time we pass from this life and what happens when we resurrect as newly born spirit-ascendant beings. No other theology dares an attempt to explain the process of personality or soul survival, but most religions propose an afterlife reality. The Urantia Book provides a plausible construct that is both logical AND comforting to all people who believe such a spiritual afterlife is not only possible, but inevitable.

    3. Extra Terrestrial, or Exo-Planetary Life. The Urantia Book is the only book (of which I am aware) that fully embraces the notion of ‘other worlds with life;’ going further, the Urantia Book expands upon this concept to include an entire universe of life-evolving spheres home to races and species of varying types. While none of this can be proven of course, the Urantia Book is the first extensive theology that combines evolutionary physical life (coordinated and administered to by spiritual beings) that runs parallel with an advanced spiritual community that awaits us when we pass from this life to the next.

In short, the Urantia Book describes a universe filled with ascendant beings just like ourselves who, at some point, will  progress away from the mortal time-space realm to a more advanced non-material realm. the Urantia Book states it is this reality that is actually happening now, we just don’t see it because 1) we are not spiritually advanced, 2) previous revelations that would have informed us of this fact (of other, more spiritually-advanced life forms) were cut-short and eventually lost to the world, and 3) we have yet to discover any life forms beyond our own to substantiate these claims.

Astronomers now believe that there are most likely millions of worlds with life. When the Urantia Book was written in 1934 hardly anyone believed life was possible outside of our solar system (remember the goldilocks premise?). Hence the Urantia Book is not only advanced in presenting ET life, but goes into great detail on the kinds of life we can expect to discover once these discoveries are made (The Urantia Book states there is, in  “close proximity”  a world of living will creatures called “Non-breathers;” some believe this world may be one of the moons of Jupiter or Saturn).

    4. The Exhaustive Narrative of Jesus’s Life and Teachings. In no other writing is there such an exhaustive retelling of Jesus’s entire life that is both consistent with the Gospels (though not in all of their teachings and interpretations of events recorded in the New Testament), and is also historically accurate when depicting the cultural and living conditions of the times in which Jesus lived. The stated reason for this retelling is because Jesus’ life was not only significant to us, but the universe found great significance of his mortal life because Jesus was an incarnated Son of God the Father, “an only begotten Son,” who choose our world to live as a human being to reveal the Fathers’ nature and personality, and also to experience life as a mortal human being.

To summarize our thesis, we claim the Urantia Book is a revelation of new information because of at least four distinctions that sets this text apart from other theological teachings, which include:

    1. The spirit world specifically detailed

   2. A full narration of the after life is explained

   3. An explanation of life on other worlds is presented and explained (which is consistent with current astronomic theory)

   4. A full description of Jesus’ life, including his death, resurrection and subsequent ascendency after Pentecost.

These distinctions are important because they denote potential transition of human development IF this revelation gains acceptance.

This is what revelation does. It pushes evolution along (and it usually starts with a small group of “early adapters”). Once the printing press was invented illiteracy decreased and human knowledge increased, Having increased, human behavior starts to change faster, which is what we saw in the 17th and 18th Century. Once we harnessed electricity human engagement and performance became more efficient and productive – and life changed rapidly.

In spiritual terms, once Jesus lived and taught new truth – and we saw that resurrection was possible – another world was opened to humanity, a world which included not just our life in the flesh, but an eternal life of continuous adventure and learning.

Religion has evolved tremendously since Jesus’s time.  And so it is that if the Urantia Book is a true revelation, then it too will open the doors to new human understanding, and further, we will have gained new spiritual insight as to our purpose and destiny as will creatures of soul-potential, and as citizens of this beautiful blue planet they call Urantia.

When Truth No Longer Matters

Anyone who has read the Urantia Book, and in particular, Part 3 on our history, knows that when societies aren’t spiritually hungry, they perish. When man stops looking for the truth, eternal truth, then that man’s days are really numbered.

In paper 195 we are instructed “a society without God is like a solar system without gravity,” meaning there is nothing to hold it together. God is the central force and figure, the stabilizer, the purpose and the origin of life itself. To ignore God is to really ignore true reality, which means a society that ignores God is really a society that is living in its own reality and that reality cannot sustain itself.

When Jesus asked about the end times, and his return, or when the world is about to go through tribulation he said to “look for the signs,”  just as you would observe the changing leafs of a tree when new seasons come.

I see the signs and they are not good. Religious affiliation is down, socialism is on the rise, authoritative totalitarian regimes are gaining strength, drug abuse and the drug trade are exploding, suicides and insanity are increasing (promoted by an over-zealous medical industry that believes everyone one is suffering from something, and therefore must be treated).

The most powerful, influential and wealthy country on the planet is sick, very sick. But at the root of this sickness is that, for the most part, society has given up on God. He is not talked about, he is not referred to (except in relation to social rights or social justice), and outside of church or some religious programming, mainstream media ignores God and anything to do with Jesus.

I am not an evangelical. I am not a Christian as you might define the word, but I do believe in the truths that Jesus taught and I do believe in Him, who came to represent the Father and to show us the way. So I say this with great sadness and even some contempt: How dare we turn our backs on eternal principles when we are the recipients of so much wealth and luxury – at the hands of the millions of people who suffered and toiled so we could have what we have today? How is it that our political leaders have become so corrupted, and our media and all that it represents  has also become so vacuous, pornographic and vulgar? And why do the non-religious hate Christ so much that they are willing to tear down statues for fear of offending someone? From whence comes this great offense that a spiritual figure would cause such pain?

Can we not see the seeds of our own destruction? Can we not hear the cries of the lonely and the despondent for salvation and redemption in a world so cruel that we even now pass laws that allow doctors to kill babies after they are born just to protect a “woman’s right to choose?” (I understand the necessity in a promiscuous society to provide life planning options to young people who may not be prepared for child-rearing, but the line of decency keeps getting pushed back where we don’t even see our own cruelty because it has become categorized as a “right”).

Urantia (Earth) is a troubled-planet. From the very first human, we have been slightly askew, different from the rest of our cosmic brethren. We know that Michael chose our world for his seventh bestowal because we were backward and lost, and while I am grateful there are still millions upon millions of people who have found God through Jesus, it’s not the flock who frighten me. It’s the other 60 percent of humanity who are quite frightening, and off course.

Books like the Urantia Book should have appeal to people looking for a smart and consistent religious faith, but admittingly, it’s not for everyone. I know this truth, but I also know the number of people who read the Urantia Book is growing, and this gives me comfort. It’s why I do this blog and Urantia Radio broadcasts, to keep the beacon of hope bright for those who are passing ships looking for safe harbor.

To the future we look and see mystery, but if the past is any indication, then we are in for a very rocky ride. Strap yourself in.

In God we must trust, indeed.

Motivation is Everything

I recently attended the National Radio Broadcasters Convention in Anaheim, California.

People from all over the country attended to meet and discuss whatever projects they were involved with in spreading the Gospel. I called it being “in the Jesus business.”

Over the years I have attended other broadcast conventions for commercial radio, or what we call “General Market” radio, which means everything but religious or non-commercial radio. The difference between regular radio people and people who are involved with religious broadcasting is remarkable.

The thing that impressed me the most about the NRB was the relaxed, almost gleeful vibe I felt about the people in attendance. You could tell that, while all there were just trying to make a living, they were also dedicated to their beliefs and were motivated because of their faith. They believed what they were doing was for the right reason and for a good and worthy cause.

Contrary to mainstream radio conventions, where there are people who act more like cynical opportunists, the NRB not only reminded me of my own passion for broadcasting (which got me into the business at the age of 19), but even more exciting was the fact that Jesus has an army of people who, to this day, are “winning souls for the kingdom.” Communications people who love the Lord are doing great things – and they know it!

In regular broadcasting, people are solely motivated by financial success, the art form is secondary (which was not always the case before broadcasting became overtly corporatized).

In religious broadcasting today, what started out with Jesus and twelve Apostles in Galilee two-thousand years ago is now a full-fledged budding industry of people who use their skills and knowledge to continue to teach Christs’ message of salvation to the world.

If one were disposed to believe that Christianity is losing its impact or is less relevant today, this convention would have set you straight. There is an army of people out their doing incredible things for God in every corner of the earth.

For example, I saw several independent film companies introducing a slew of full-length television and theatrical films about Faith, the Bible, etc. If you are a Christian you are going to be impressed and excited by the numerous faith-based films about to be released.

I met several pastors who use radio in foreign countries to spread the Gospel. I met other ministers who use broadband to recruit missionaries that are needed to help teach Christ in communist countries (where you can be killed for doing so). I met evangelists who simply wanted to grow their programs across networks; one particular man, who hails from Bangladesh and who specifically tries to introduce Jesus to Muslims, spoke to me about his experiences in trying to introduce Christ to Muslims (which as you can imagine, are fraught with danger).

But the greatest lesson for me was the reminder that, no matter what your profession or duty, if you are motivated by God or Christ (or divine principles) when doing your work, then even secular things become spiritual, as stated by Jesus in paper 155 of the Urantia Book (155:6:11) from his ‘Second Discourse on Religion’:

“And fail not to remember that the will of God can be done in any earthly occupation. Some callings are not holy and others secular. All things are sacred in the lives of those who are spirit led; that is, subordinated to truth, ennobled by love, dominated by mercy, and restrained by fairness — justice.” (UB 155:6:11)

The experience was thrilling and for a Urantian like myself, I left with no doubt that Jesus continues to have a major impact in the lives of millions and millions of people, many of whom came to Anaheim to hone their secular skills for a truly divine purpose.

It’s Been 63 Years Since Gods’ Angels Spoke to Us

by JR Watkins

On October 12 we will have had The Urantia Book for 63 years. that’s when the first edition of the Urantia Book rolled off the printing press and began to be sold and made available to humanity.

By all accounts, the book is a top-seller. Over a million copies have been sold, the book has been translated into a dozen languages, there are hundreds, if not thousands of sites dedicated to the Urantia Book and its teachings, and because anyone with a smartphone can now download the entire 2,097 page tome for free, thousands continue to do so every year. Downloads now exceed bookstore purchases, according to the Urantia Foundations’ most recent report. Last year over 130,000 people downloaded the book; 19,300 printed books were distributed globally in 2017. Not bad for a book that is never commercially promoted, has no leader or primary spokesperson, and has absolutely no presence in any mainstream media platform (TV, radio or print).

Despite the fact of its continued obscurity, the book spreads, almost like an underground movement with no activist goals. No one who reads the Urantia Book is screaming “new revelation” from the streets. You don’t hear people talking about it in interviews, referring to it in academia, or referencing quotations or topics in mainstream conversation. It’s a secret hidden in wide view.

It’s a revelation of new truth, on the same level of Jesus, Adam and Eve, even greater in scope than Moses and the Ten Commandments.  It’s a message from our unseen friends who felt it was time to share with us a much wider context of our world, our place among the worlds of space, and is, for the most part, consistent with its presentation of history, science and philosophy. In short, if you were looking for a new spiritual revelation, there is ample evidence that the Urantia Book is that revelation.

There is no fanaticism connected with the Urantia Book. There are no miracles connected to its appearance, indeed, even the revelators – the ones who wrote the book- don’t reveal how the book was written. It just is, there for anyone to peruse and learn from its scope of presentation.

It is rumored (though never substantiated) that Gene Roddenberry, the creator of Star Trek, as well as Rod Serling of Twilight Zone fame, were heavily influenced by the book. If this is true, and Star Trek was the result of the Urantia Book, think of all of the young minds of the 1960’s and 1970’s who went on to create technology not unlike we see in Star Trek. The very notion of life on other worlds, a literal community of planets is now part of our lexicon. One could infer that if Gene was merely borrowing this idea from the Urantia Book, then one could argue that the Urantia Influence has already begun.

Elvis, Jackie Gleason, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jerry Garcia were all avid readers of the Urantia Book. But they never talked about openly, at least as far as the press is concerned (maybe they never asked the right question when interviewing these folks), and yet, look at the influence these people had on our culture. Were their worldviews shaped by the Urantia Book? What other people and in what other industries has the Urantia Book influenced since it’s publication 63 years ago?  It would be hard to know since so few people talk about it openly. But I am confident many ‘UB readers’ have made their mark in industry, public policy, government, artistic achievement, science, business, technology and – especially religion.

It is the most popular secret religion in the world.

I believe the revelators are aware of our propensity to worship books, especially ones rooted in antiquity. The Urantia Book is still very much in its infancy, a young 63 years, compared to the Old Testament (3,500 years), The Bhagwat gita (2,500 years) the New Testament (1,700 years), the Quran (1,200 years) and the Book of Mormon (200 years).

Over time, and as it quietly grows in reception, the Urantia Book will one day be regarded as a true historical and religious text because its statements will have lasted the test of time. The information will have had a chance to ferment within the various cultures and within certain progressive societies where people are intellectually and spiritually responsive to what the Urantia book presents.

The Urantia Book is already beginning to reshape our spiritual concepts, pushing them along, as it were, towards a more intelligent understanding of our world and our role in it, a philosophy that is perfectly harmonious with the fact of science, intellectually consistent and religiously satisfying.

Happy Birthday to the Revelators, thank you for your wonderful gift which was given to us on October 12, 1955.

Gabriel – The Fixer

by James Watkins

It is interesting to note that, throughout human history, Gabriel seems to make his mark.

This mighty angel, the chief executive, the Bright and Morning Star who serves at the pleasure of Michael, dots the timeline of humanity from the age of Enoch, to Daniel, to the appearance before John the Baptists’ mother Elizabeth to inform her she will bear a son who will pave the way for the Son of Man, and to Mary, the mother of Jesus, again to inform her she will bear the Son of God. But it doesn’t end there. Gabriel, it is said, also appeared before Mohammed, and still later, had his hand in other affairs we find in the narrative of the Book or Mormon, and lastly, he is the one who commissioned the work of the Urantia Book.

Gabriel, according to the Urantia Book (where his name appears 125 times) is one-of-a-kind. Gabriel is the offspring, the first-born of Michael and the Daughter of the Infinite Spirit, therefore and perhaps even literally, the grandchild of the 2nd and 3rd Person of the Trinity:

“Gabriel of Salvington is the chief executive of the universe of Nebadon and the arbiter of all executive appeals respecting its administration. This universe executive was created fully endowed for his work, but he has gained experience with the growth and evolution of our local creation.” (Paper 33)

In the Kabbalah it is written:

“Gabriel is portrayed as working in concert with Michael as part of God’s court. Gabriel is not to be prayed to because only God can answer prayers and sends Gabriel as his agent.

In the Book of Enoch, he is described as:

“Gabriel, who is set over the repentance unto hope of those who inherit eternal life, is named Phanuel.’ And these are the four angels of the Lord of Spirits and the four voices I heard in those days.” (Enoch 40:9)

… and also, in some modern sects of Catholicism, Gabriel is the patron saint of messengers,” those who work for broadcasting and telecommunications such as radio and television.”

It appears that Gabriel, in the hierarchy of the spiritual world, is not only a major personality of the highest order and executive power, but a divine being who commands great respect, from us especially, for having made a lasting impression through the annals of human history on our little world. He always seems to show up at a crucial time, a fixer of sorts, who attempts to put things right and prepare for us something new and exciting.

The Urantia Book states very clearly that it was the Ancients of Days AND Gabriel who made it possible for the Urantia Book project to be undertaken – this was his project as well as his gift to modern man.

Pretty cool when you think about it.

Want to Know Where God Lives? Just ask George Park

by James R. Watkins

I’ve been spending a number of evenings pouring through some interesting articles provided by Urantia Book researcher George Park. I invite you to check out his research if you are into astronomy. I was so impressed by his work, I invited George to be my guest on Perspectives (now streaming on our Live broadcast stream and as a podcast on our Archives page).

For the first time, someone has taken the information in the Urantia Book and put this information into context within today’s contemporary astronomy.

Among the highlights:

  • Where the geographical center of Paradise is located (Yes, where God lives!)
  • How new discoveries in astronomy now seem to contradict the Big Bang theory
  • Possible locations of Jerusem, Edentia, Salvington, Uversa, Havona and even Paradise (the “Heavens”) in the night time sky
  • The meaning of The Sloan Wall and its implications in astrophysics (especially in disproving The Big Bang Theory)

In summary, Park makes the statement that the Revelators of the Urantia Book must have anticipated scientists would refute many of its cosmological claims since little evidence in 1955 was available, but new discoveries in astrophysics are now coming to light which vindicate the cosmological narrative of the Urantia revelation after all. We are now learning, through discovery of things like The Sloan Wall and CMB (Cosmic Microwave Background), which measures active energy throughout the known galaxy, that seems to indicate the uinverse is an oblong disc of cosmic matter which contradicts the Big Bang “balloon” model of equal energy dispursement, a model that states all matter and energy expands in all directions equally, the Standard Model in Astronomy.

Science and Religion stand at opposite ends of human experience. What George has done is clarify the Urantia concepts in a manner which brings these two paradigms closer together.

After all, if Science can someday learn that there is a “master designer” who put all of existence into motion, how many hearts would be lifted by such knowledge that there is, in fact, someone (or something) in control of this otherwise seemingly random existence?

Science, according to Park, may not be able to prove the existence of God, but it most certainly can learn that our physical universe has far too much “design” (pattern) to be explained by random causation, a theory that, a hundred years from now, may seem as silly as believing Earth is the center of the solar system, a theory once embraced by – you guessed it – scientists who thought they knew better and were too stubborn to let go of their belief system.

Again, if you like astronomy, you will enjoy reading much of Parks’ works, which is located at www.UBcosmology.com

There is much to say about how the Urantia Book came to be.

Unfortunately, most of what is being perpetuated about the origins of this strange tome of profound religious, scientific and philosophical subject matter appears to be jaded by man’s incessant need to “make stuff up” when the real facts are hard to comprehend.

The ongoing misconception is that The Urantia Book was channelled because bookshelves are lined with other so-called “channelled works” (Conversations with God, A Course in Miracles, and Book of Commandments by Joseph Smith, founder of The Mormon Church, to name a few so-called “channelled” works) and these books have popularized the notion that people are able to tap into ‘the other side’ and get messages from spiritual sources.

It is not for me to say whether these or other books are authentic, or even if channelling as a method of communication is possible. But I can say The Urantia Book was not channelled, nor did anyone associated with the early appearance of the book ever claim the book was a work of channelling.

Channelling usually involves one person being used as a sort of clearing house of communication and shares it with the rest of us. In the case of the Urantia Book, there were always at least two people or more in observance when any communication ensued between the ‘sleeping subject’ and the observing doctors. Verifiable facts also disclose that the actual writings of the Urantia Papers were never witnessed by anyone when the papers were written.

Dr. William Sadler and his wife Dr. Lena Sadler were very successful at debunking so-called mediumship and other forms of psychic phenomena. In fact, both of these physicians were well-regarded in their day as being practical, grounded in science, and philanthropical in their work as medical doctors. Though they treated a patient who appeared to be used as a gateway of verbal communication, this person never wrote one word of, or claimed to know anything about the material contained in the Urantia papers.

Even the Urantia Book authors make it clear no human author was involved in the writings of the 2,097 book. They (the sources of the written material) emphatically state that the book was not inspired, and was in fact, presented as a celestial-sourced document provided by personalities who were mandated to produce the 196 papers to “fill in the missing gaps” and to provide a context of reality which was to serve in the expansion of our cosmic awareness of origins, destiny and purpose.

Dr. Sadler, an expert in psychiatry, declared emphatically that channelling or any kind of mediumship was never involved in the actual writings, that the handwritten papers simply appeared fully written on paper. Expert handwriting analysis corroborated Sadler’s claim that no human author (he could find) was ever involved.

In other words, no human being has ever come forward to make such a claim of authorship.

To presume the Sadler’s were somehow involved, or knowingly deceived people about the writings of the Urantia book  is to refute sworn testimony from two well-respected physicians who had stellar reputations, and that you the reader should be open to the possibility that channelling is not the only method ever used when angels choose to communicate. It should be emphasized that the Urantia Book itself states it was not a work of channelled communication or human authorship.

The theory that appears to have some merit, though it is at best speculative, is that the manuscript was dictated to a lower angelic being (what they call a Midwayer) who was able to physically put words to paper.

As Bill Sadler, Jr. once theorized, if you were in the room when the papers were being written, all you would have observed is a pencil moving by itself writing words on pieces of paper. But even this proposed theory is never conclusively answered.

Most, if not all channelled works usually have a human source named. Most channelled works do not include specific information that heretofore, becomes validated over time. Most channelled works supposedly come from a deceased person, or a specific personality by name. A Course in Miracles, for example, claims to be the thoughts and testimony from Jesus himself.

I bring this up now because there is much more interest in The Urantia book than in prior decades, and I fear that when people start to dig for background information on the papers (as we all do when we are first learning about it), the mis-information is mixed in with the more factual information that is also readily available, and such misleading speculation can detract from the importance of the writings themselves.

To this end I would direct people to read Larry Mullins A History of the Urantia Papers. Larry is a consummate fact-finder. He used verifiable evidence to draw his conclusions.

Judged on its own merit, as it should be, The Urantia Book stands alone as a literally masterpiece, even if only viewed as fiction. The revelatory scope of knowledge presented therein will be paying out dividends for many years to come, even decades to come, as more people actually read it and delve into what it says about our human history, astronomy, geology, religious history and paleontology, not to mention the clues it provides to help us discover new forms of energy sources, cures for illnesses, answers for social ills, and lastly, a new and improved understanding of the very nature of God.

Repeat after me, “the Urantia Book was not channelled, the Urantia book was not channelled, the Urantia Book was not channelled.”

Read Larry’s book if you want to get to the truth about the origins of the Urantia Book, it is a marvelous read and one that puts to rest many misconceptions being presented as fact.
